After watching the nothing-special-but-costly-local-movie, ais kacang puppy love, it was about 11pm d, we whole family try to look for some hawker food.
Since noone gave any suggestion, my dad decided to bring us to the big food court at Sungai Pinang that we never been before, which is somewhere near the car showroom, if im nt mistaken..
It is quite an ordinary food court, which usually cost a little more expensive compared to those tasty and cheaper food outside. Normal stalls, Hokien mee, Curry mee, chicken rice.. all closed d.
Left over are those sitting and chatting chefs or taukes. The most famous 2 are Fried Rice King, which I saw before at Paya Terubong food court, and East Coast Seafood(Dong Hai An Hai Xian,东海岸), which is quite a famous big boss of seafood, where u can find it opposite Kong Min Caw 2, Dong Hai An Coffee Shop, Air Itam.
I spotted a Fried Chee Cheong Fun, and Fried Seafood Chee Cheong Fun, with KL Rojak sauce or Mayo.(Special, rite? KL rojak sauce on FRIED chee cheong fun). so i decided to order that thing with mayo. I told d boss Chee Cheong Fun. But when he served it, its seafood one, RM2.50. I asked him isnt it RM2.00 only? he told me, because if din tell is normal one, he will do seafood one..WELL.. FINE.. i said chee cheong fun wo, i din say seafood pun!! he asked me wat sauce, bt y nt ask me is normal or seafood? deng! one time is alr more than enuf... no more next time in my entire life.. isnt it a kinda cheat?? Just 2 pieces of chee cheong fun oni wo.. I order dis really make me feel like I am a big cheong fun.. ai.. big regret floating on my head d entire night.
It's just a normal chee cheong fun, with cut-into-small-thin-stripes of crab stick inside-->thats so called seafood chee cheong fun???? u know wat is seafood ah, tauke? i feel like pulling the uncle to d bush beside n kenakan him kao kao cos of humiliating chee cheong fun. To be neutral, without thinking of cheating n d price, d taste is really NOT good. It has that kinda smell like d powder is alr left so long and no longer fresh d. Outside is crispy, but a little gummy, hard to bite. inside is soft, but tasteless. oni d powder smell all over inside my mouth, n d mayo is so little that u couldnt find enough to cover the "ewwy" taste. Eww..
My mom took an Oyster Noodles, kinda heavy taste, very salty, it is considered as normal. but not tasty. If you wanna find a better one, shud find at somewhere the roundabout of Bukit Bendera or Penang Asia Cafe there, the coffee shop in between Maybank and Rabbit Bak Kut Teh, opposite CIMB. The Oyster mee there taste better. can try out the rabbit bak kut teh oso, but i think d old chef alr passed down to his son, not so famous like before dis. when d thing is nt famous, means its not as nice as before d. now is name oni la, no longer using rabbit meat d..
My dad gt himself a Tit Pan Yee Mee and share with me. For me, its quite sweet and a lil salty. but they said still ok.. also kinda heavy taste. the vege and carrot, all r soft and old no longer energetic and yellowish. look like they have been cook for very very long d. more to vegetarian yee mee. if u r looking for meat, den u have to use microscope. haha...
while my sis ordered a "SAR Hor Fun", usually we fried hor fun, but that stall "SAND" hor fun. haha.. well. d price list is also weird weird geh..written rm4.00 and rm4.50. she collected 4.50. Penang Char Hor Fun usually is white gravy, but hers is black one, like Hokien Char.
In conclusion, IF there are other choices available, or mamak perhaps? NEVER EVER step into dis hawker centre.. u will walk in with smile, walk out with tears..
