Lunch at Air Itam Market Area, Penang

This post is just say it for fun without any nice photos..

Went out for lunch this aftnoon n sort of dono what to eat... aft taking a long way, through orchard garden, asia cafe, me n my mom decided to go to air itam market to hunt for lunch..

There are quite some stalls din open, so, we only have few choices, which are, mee goreng mamak, lam mee, ais kacang, curry mee from outside, fried kuey tiaw from another shop, or Laksa side, got kuey tiaw soup, fried kuey tiaw, yao cha kuai, and outisde Maxim/Sunshine that row of shops, gt soya milk, tau fa, fried bread, n some snacks..

I've ordered a fried kuey tiaw from another shop, rm2.70, while my mom ordered a curry mee from outside, rm2.50. d famous air itam laksa from the opposite of the cafeteria is now rm3 d.. wow.. d sunglasses uncle, always raise d price oni.... >.<

i feel so disappointed with the curry mee, i don understand why there are so many ppl said that curry mee is nice... well, be careful when u take d first mouthful of soup, as it might choke u. it's just curry powder flavour without d colour or rich taste of coconut milk(or some ppl called it santan/not lemak enuf).. it has d basic ingredients of a curry mee shud hv, dried sotong, blood cube, clamps, taofu pok, n mint leaves.. but the soup is a BIG BIG FAILURE~!!! @.@ penangites, stop telling ppl this is one of d nice curry mee la.. really so ashamed la...

d fried kuey tiaw, last time was very nice. but aft the uncle is dead, an aunty took over d.. d color isnt really attractive.. but to compare with those normal fried kuey tiaw stalls, dis one is quite ok d..

later we went over to d opposite row of shop to Maxim cake house.. i wanna ordered my favorite gelato, rm3.80 per scoop, but din have, so i tried out d soft twist, rm1.20 from Mon~Sat, sunday rm1.00 nett. its quite sweet, n its so much more taller than McD's sundae.

while my mom bought some portuguese eggtarts for our tea time. 4 pcs for RM6.00. d egg smells good, n very Q, d skin oso quite nice.. but of cos, dey r not d best... =)

Azuma Japanese Restaurant, Queensbay Mall

Tonight, i joined my fren togo queensbay mall to claim his paid 20mm lens and GF1 viewfinder. cool! first time seeing view finder mounted on GF1! cute neh~!

We then went to Azuma Japanese Restaurant at 2nd floor, above Border's Bookstore.
The photos of this blog post are contributed by Lumix GF1 lens 20mm 1.7. Nice isnt it? small n powerful, d power of Evil camera. XD

This is the Garlic Fried Rice. Very very rich flavour of garlic, with the flavours of mushrooms, egg, spring onion n etc. Every granule of rice is coated with the shining thin layer of garlic flavoured oil. mm... yum yum~!

This maki is top with squid. the squid was burnt to perfection before served. therefore it takes a lil of time to serve this dish, but tell u what? its really worth waiting.. more nice nice food await... lets scroll down n c more..

What do u think it is? yeah, BEEF. as u can see, d brownish gravy, is grounded garlic n ginger. The thinly sliced beef, grilled to perfection, enriched with d flavour of ginger top with a lil sesame.. I personally don like ginger.. n guess what? there are 2 more nicer dishes, so, i wouldnt say i super love dis beef then.. haha..

OMG, here goes the 1st bombastic food -- Salmon Belly!!! The salmon belly is nicely done to super perfection, that the skin is fried to super crisp, while d meat n d fat underneath d skin is still very juicy and enrich. Usually fish fat will be a lil stinky, but they have prepared it that its not too stink, n not too spoilt by other flavours.. its just a nude salmon belly fried in salt only i guess.. U will regret for not trying this. Even if u don like d fat of fish, at least, pls, take a small bite once in ur whole lifetime!!

Deng DEng DENg DENG~!!! here goes the superb of the meal~! not stated in the menu, but recommended by a cute lil waitress.
Red Tuna Sashimi!! The thickly sliced fresh enrich tuna, OMG.. really worth dying for it.. with the combination of freshly ground wasabi by Azuma, erm... cant think of any words to describe but really heaven feeling when the piece of meat is melting in my mouth... slurp.. look at the texture, d colour.. wow... and d wasabi is much more tastier than those preserved wasabi from the toothpaste liked squeezing bottle. YUMMY~!

Total spending for this meal is around RM113 including all taxes n Ocha's. hehe.. enjoy~!

Starbucksie Time, Bkt Bintang

Double Shots Espresso. I had my first cup with a good fren of mine in hometown.

Dark Mocha Grande.
Not a bad combination to go with Double Esp.. haha...

Sakae Sushi, IOI Mall

My fren felt like eating sushi and suggested to go Sushi King for dinner. Well, im quite a Jap food lover too, so my personal opinion is Sakae Sushi is always better than Sushi King.
Wasabi

This is d Salmon Belly, 2 thin slices.. We ordered 2 plates.. Well, of cos they are not as satisfying compared to those I had before. Its not as "fat" as d one I took in Azuma(penang). A great fren of mine taught me abt this wonderful food, and also another dish namely Toro, Tuna under belly. The thinly sliced salmon belly has reduced d sweetness taste of the salmon, but overall, I'd say its not bad. RM 9.90/plate
This is Smelt fish,冶炼鱼 coated in tempura powder -- my mom's real time favorite, she cooks it now and then aft get to know this species. It is very special fish as it is caught when they are full of caviar, it is also called as 多卵魚...

Tofu kimuchi with shiitake mushroom n bean sprout...i think d kimuchi soup is much more tasty than korean kimchi, cos i don like korean food.. hehe..

This are the handrolls, d front one is d fried salmon skin temaki, while behind are the salmon temaki.

Well, this is d black plate of sakae sushi, look like burnt melted candle, isnt it? yea.. they do look like, but no worries, they don taste like. its d combination of rice, salmon, caviar n different types of mayo. if u love all d stated ingredients, u can gif it a try.. worth trying. i believe they burn it b4 serve it. special, huh? rm8.90 for 2 pcs of candles.

fried squid, its so much different from d photo displayed in d menu. the displayed photo is whole pc of squid nicely oriented. but when it comes, it looks like how u r seeing.. very very rich of garlic flavour nicely fried to perfection.

This point onwards are the sushi from d conveyor belt.. believe me, those on d conveyor belt are not fresh.. sigh.. slightly cold and see this lion head?? it has been circulating round n round n roundsss... i wonder anyone took it?

Deep Fried Scallops top with cheese, fish n mayo. rich flavour of cheese.

Deep fried Scallops oso.. but nt as fancy as above one.

Soft Shell Crab.

prawn prawn

for d whole meal, 3 of us spent roughly a total of 117 including all d taxes n 3 green tea. enjoy~!
