Big Jong Pork Mixed Porridge, Sri Kembangan

today out of sudden, feel like goin to explore..
open chui leng's profile, look for d porridge that i watched frm program last time, copy d address n go out d.

all went on very smoothly, found d stall very easily. bt i used d wrong way back.. n accidentally reached KL d. sob sob.. cost me rm1.20 more for toll, n petrol.. frm very far, u can c d stall, cos there's a yellow color spinning siren light on top of d word PORRIDGE,"粥".

D famous porridge there is pork mixed porridge, there gt chicken, fish, crab..... porridge. normal one RM3.50 small, RM 4.00 big. Special one, like fish, crab, RM 4.00 small, RM4.50 big. extra order Yao Char Kuai, RM1.00.

go there eat, sure eat recommended one, so i ordered a pork mixed porridge, small, with a yao char kuai.

gt quite a lot of ingredients inside d porridge. im nt so sure if i gt their names correctly onot, bt d ingredients shud be, fried pig skin, spleen, blood, meat, very hardly found intestine(if im nt wrong in d name), fried bee hoon, spring onion, n most scary one, ginger!

almost finish d, bt still gt a bit ingredients in it.. hehe..

d yao char kuai, b4 wanna eat oni dip inside d porridge, a bit soft a bit crunchy. nice!

i dn think dey put much flavoring, because usually we as a human, aft eating those artificial flavoring, we will feel thirsty. so, if wanna eat porridge, can go try out la.

Purelife Organic, Kajang

Aft watching A Xian's program, found out dis place kinda near. so, went there to try out. i found out that 9 out of 10 go there oso because of A Xian's program. wow.. he's so so popular, no wonder i heard that ppl said his dad keep showing off his salary very high la..(he is oso penangite)

If u din ask for menu, they wont show u, n d menu's very lousy one. just 12 pieces of photos, with some food alr out of stocks, bt some other new food nt in there.

I've tried out Soya Milk curry Mee, Loh Mee, Roti Salad, juice n soup there.
The Soya Milk Curry Mee,豆浆咖喱面--RM8. Well, maybe i did put hope in it, so i was kinda disappointed. it's tasteless, with very strong curry powder n pumpkin taste. d noodle is kinda nice, it's their handmade noodles,手工面. they r using that kinda weird bean sprout, big head, short body, n u hv to eat them raw to gt d vitamins. i love d tofu, d boss said it's from Bukit Mertajam, Penang. d tofu is nt ordinary tofu bt with nori(seaweed) inside. d taste of seaweed n tofu coupled very nicely together.

Loh Mee--RM8. also handmade noodles of theirs, with oni vege and Auricularia,黑木耳 inside. they oso added in vinegar. according to d boss, they use rice powder rather than tapioca powder to make d sticky soup. it's kinda stimulating appetite, because it's sour. bt u can oso specially order them to make u without venegar one. it's considered as ok, bt rm8 js a bowl of noodles n vege? erm..depends on personel to decide lo.

Roti Salad--RM5. it's jus an ordinary Roti canai, wrapping salad n their self made salad sauce. i quite like d sauce, it's a bit sweet, very slight sour, n it mix well with d vege n roti. d roti is abit crunchy. dis is d best i'd say. bt according to some rumours, d ah neh's roti not everytime oso that delicious one. sometime will be a bit thick. he always look so serious, nvr smile, bt he's quite frenly.

Roti's Ah Neh

They oso hv Nasi Lemak--RM9, bt i din try out, cos i dn like d outlook of it. it's js brown rice with sesame toppings, pumpkin curry, vege n peanut, pickle,泡菜 n a lil bit sambal, made of tomato, organic chili, n so on. i dn really that kinda korean style pickle, so i decided nt to eat it.

Juice,蔬果汁--RM6, Soup,精力汤--RM9. juice is just normal juice, while d soup is just blended veges. bt d names sound so complicated. d ingredients of juice are lettuce(生菜), baby bok choy(小白菜), chinese broccoli(菜心), apple n lemon. sometimes dey oso add in raw papaya. for d soup, dey r d same, except dey added in almond n other seed family members. maybe she added in too much lemon in my fren's soup, i'd say it's very horrible taste. d juice taste better. bt when i ordered 2nd time for d soup, it tastes better than my fren's.
Left, soup; Right, juice

The juice's Ah Moi

I oso tried their Black Sesame Paste, 芝麻糊. quite nice. bt RM4 per small bowl, erm..isnt it a bit expensive?

{when i looking around in their shop, i saw Jusco Selection's price tag on a coloured big bag in their fridge. i wonder is it so called organic thing from jusco? hope i can find out d answer next time if i go there again.}

They oso hv little library, bread corner, groceries(selling rice, beans, honey, their selfmade noodle, sauce, recyclable containers, vege n so on), n washing area, with non chemical diluted washing liquid, enzyme washing, n few tanks of rinsing water. dey oni change it once per day.

Tony Roma's, Mid Valley

today suddenly gt mood to meet somebody. therefore we went out for dinner together..straying in mid valley for some time until we decided to go TR, because i nvr been there b4.

once i open d menu, i noticed that d steaks and ribs there are kinda expensive.almost all are rm50 or above. only d seafood slightly cheaper.

each table is complimented one bread as starter, it's kinda nice i'd say. bt isnt it kinda pity if u go in a gang? d bread is hot + d crispiness of outer part + softness inside, plus d taste of garlic butter spread. nice! saliva drippin thinkin of it. haha..

we've ordered a onion half loaf as our apetizer, 12.90. it's a stacking up of crispy onion rings. i like d taste, n d crunchiness, bt one thing make me lost of apetite, d onions at d top part are very pretty n crunchy, bt when it goes further down, they sticked all together, d crunchy coatings and d onions had been seperated.

i hv no idea wat to order, therefore i listened to my fren's suggestion, i ordered a steak combo. it's a 6oz sirloin steak with either dis/tat. i gt myself a medium steak, with fried shrimp, side dishes are mashed potatoes and tomato pesto,49.90.

When it's served, im asked to cut n see if it's medium. yes, it looks like. it looks very nice instead. bt when i put into my mouth n start chewing? oh no.. i know im gonna suffer, my braces r gonna suffer too. it's so chewy, so hard, so dry. d steak's being seasoned n grilled b4 served, there's no gravy. js juice, bt mine is kinda dried out d. d taste isnt bad, js that it's too hard.

d shrimps are too well done~~overcooked. it hasnt turn into charcoal kinda overcooked, bt d juice inside d shrimps've lost! therefore it becomes kinda hard oso.
ewww... d mashes potatoes. it's kinda worst-eva-mashed-potatoes that i've eva had. or maybe i shud say, it doesnt suit my taste. it's nt smooth, nt blended thoroughly, and too dry. so, u stil need to take ur time n chew b4 u could actually swallow. with d potato skin mixing inside, i've once again lost my apetite.
d tomato pesto.. well.. i din know it's such kinda salad. i couldnt finish it. it's a combination of cooked tomato n fresh vege. i dn really like d taste.

my fren ordered a New York Strip medium rare, with coleslaw n french fries as side dishes, with a shiitake mushroom topping(bt it was then served seperately due to careless)53.90+5.90.

d steak's so bloody(or juicy), nice! bt d middle part is really so rare, oni d outer part is slightly grilled. bt at least it's soft, my teeth din feel d pain for bitin it. one thing kinda irritating is d tendon inside d meat. eww.. it's hard to chew, n imagine, it's nt cooked.
d fries jus ordinary fries, without salt. u can add it urself if u wan.
d shiitake mushroom is really nice. it's jus normal chinese mushroom, bt with d very very heavy garlic seasoning, it goes on very well with d medium rare steak.

d conclusion is, although Tony Roma's is really very crowded, full house, until need to wait for some time b4 seated, bt i cant feel d yearning of going again. it's way too expensive compared to some other nicer steaks. oni d food w/o beverages, alr cost us 141 includin taxes, 2 pax.

Huang's Homemade Recipe---~Steamed Tofu~

this recipe i tried it once, ate it in restaurant once, n oso same like tauke so in d market taught me one. dis is d best way to feel d tofu i think. hehe..

ingredients:
tofu x 1 pc
In little amount:
minced meat
minced dried prawn
soya sauce
cooking oil
minced garlic
minced onion
water
spring onion

1) heat up cooking oil in a pan, add in garlic n onion when d oil is hot. stir fry until onion n garlic turned into golden brown color, add in meat n dried prawn, put a lil bit of soya sauce to flavour.

2) On the other hand, steam d tofu, in soya sauce n sprinkle a bit water on it. (or microwaved it)

3) aft d tofu is done, pour fried mixture onto d tofu. sprinkle spring onion.

4) served hot!

Tofu or Soya Milk, Sg Chua Market, Kajang

found a place near me to buy tofu or soya milk d: Kajang, Sg Chua Market. it's very easily seen on d left before d entrance of d market. d stall's in front of hawker stalls, beside yao char kuai stall.

d tofu there, according to d tauke so, it's their homemade.RM1.00, a whole big bowl. very soft, like taofa, very rich of bean aroma, n most importantly no preservative. y did i say so? tat day aft i cooked half portion, i forget to keep in fridge for couple hours, it start to hv sour smell came out d. oh no!! wat a waste!

when i bought, d tauke so taught me d method to cook. but because i dn hv wok here, so i did it d other way. still it's very pure n nice.

d soya milk there oso kinda famous, many aunties jus purposely go there to buy soya milk. one packet without ice of one person's rm1.20. i shud've tried without sugar one, i love soya milk without sugar. bt i forgot to tell her. bt still i can feel d soya aroma. Nice~! although it's a bit expensive compared to penang. hehe..

Chili's Grill & Bar, Mid Valley

last few days, went to chili's with housemates n fren in Mid V. my first time been there. kinda crowded.. need to wait a while before seated..

i dono wat's more famous there.. because d menu there din state down chef recommendation. therefore i gt myself a lamb shoulder, affordable(plus tax arnd 29) n steak, since its name is GRILL ma..

well.. it's served with few side dished, mashed potatoes, vege n a garlic toast.
d gravy of mashed potatoes is a very tasteful n salty gravy, which taste a bit like mushroom soup. while d steak, is done into perfection. bt one thing is, it has a very strong smell+taste of lamb. i was joking arnd with my fren, if it doesnt taste like lamb, dey might hv given me beef.. bt for me, it's still acceptable.

while other frens of mine ordered dis, Crispy Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers®--rm23+
Extra crispy, tossed in Chili's spicy and smoky honey-chipotle sauce. Served with Ranch dressing.
it's it's kinda sweet n spicy, too strong d taste, that i think it will be a bit disgusting to finish d whole big plate. hehe..(isnt it better to serve with rice in chinese restaurant? hahaha..XD)

while Qian ordered dis:
Chicken Crispers®--rm23++
Strips of hand-battered chicken fried to perfection. Served with sweet corn on the cob, honey-mustard dressing & homestyle fries.
it'll be really perfect if it's fried slightly longer n use more flour. d coating that they use is more or less similar to "fish n chips" kind. for me, it doesnt go well with chicken, cos chicken meat is slightly harder n chewy than fish wut.

Isaribi Tei Japanese Restaurant, Penang

I was planning to hv either japanese or western cuisine on my mom's birthday night. i found that isaribi tei is quite high rated on d internet for its courses n its environment, therefore i decided to go there.

it's located at quite an unknowing place, or maybe jus because it's covered with too many plants. if u dn really explore, u'll hardly find it.

if i'd to rate it, isaribi will get abt 75%. let's talk abt it bit by bit.

As per can see, its compound is very greenish. it's totally surrounded by plants n nice ornaments. even washrooms oso very greenish n creative, u wont feel that it's a ordinary dirty toilet. d hand washing area is next door to d ladies. in front of d restaurant, there's a wine lounge n a jewellery corner, which is also d specialty of d restaurant.

d lighting is a bit romantic n dimmish. every table will hv different sets of dining utensils. i forgot to bring my camera, so my phone couldnt really capture in dark places. Every Thursday night, there'll be a live band performing. One of their specialty too. Tats y I like dis place. Dey r so carefully planned for their customers' needs.

d food can be considered as ok. i've ordered a Rainbow Maki for my family to share. d fishes r thickly sliced, nt like other ordinary japanese restaurant, it's js thinly sliced. n most important, dey r fresh!! no ppl like stink fish i guess. it's only 8 pieces, d price's 20++(if im nt mistaken).

i ordered a chef recommended, Chirashi Soba for myself. if im nt mistaken, it's called 凉面(correct me if im wrong). it's a dish with soba, a kinda japanese buckwheat noodles, served with fresh sashimi in ice n a bowl of dipping sauce(soba tsuyu). it's a cold soya sauce n other seasoning's thin liquid. swirl ur noodles into d sauce, n eat chilled. it's d first time i try out soba, quite nice i can say. it gives me a different feelings compared to udon.

my mom's nt hungry, therefore she gt herself a fried scallops. nt a big serving, bt believe it onot, d taste of d fried scallop will keep circulating in ur mouth even aft u swallow it.

this is nt from d restaurant obviously.. dis is frm secret recipe, choco indulgence,75.

my dad gt an Unaryu. wow, whole big piece of unagi, my real time favorite. i should hv ordered that. Altho it's js normal unagi like wat's sold preserved in raw material shop, bt I still wantin it so much. nw I can oni look at my dad eating with saliva dripping..

my sis gt herself a Teriyaki beef, which i saw it's recommended by bloggers. d beef is sliced n half cooked. Quite nice.

D whole meal cost us abt 150++. u'll gt a token for every rm30 spent n d card has no expiry date. Hope I can go there again when im wealthy enuf n with my new camera!!
we din gt to try their home made ice cream, because we were kinda full with our cake. n i read frm other blogs that d ice cream isnt really that nice.. so, i dn wanna try d.. haha.. because of d candles, dey off all d fans in d restaurant js for us.. so cool! haha..
